KODAK EKTAPAN 400 is a continuous-tone panchromatic black-and-white negative film that combines ISO 400 speed with fine grain, high sharpness and strong resolving power. Its higher speed allows faster shutter speeds and provides greater flexibility in low-light conditions while maintaining a clean, detailed image. This version comes as a 35mm roll with 36 exposures.

Speed and detail with T-Grain technology

EKTAPAN 400 uses a T-Grain emulsion with flat, tabular silver halide crystals that improve light absorption while keeping grain relatively low. This structure enables high resolving power, clear edge definition and a clean appearance compared with traditional cubic-grain films, while the film’s wide exposure latitude allows flexibility in exposure and development.

KODAK EKTAPAN 400 has similar characteristics to KODAK PROFESSIONAL T-MAX 400 within the Kodak Alaris product range.

What is the difference between the different Kodak manufacturers?

Historically, Eastman Kodak manufactured Kodak photographic film, while Kodak Alaris was responsible for its marketing and distribution. From the beginning of 2026, Eastman Kodak returned directly to the photographic film market, ending Kodak Alaris’ exclusive distribution rights. As a result, some films manufactured by Eastman Kodak are now entering the market through two different Kodak channels.
