Description:
The Contax AX is a unique and innovative SLR camera that was introduced in the mid-1990s. Its standout feature is its autofocus system, which works with manual focus lenses. Instead of focusing the lens itself, the AX moves the film plane to achieve focus, allowing photographers to use older Contax/Yashica (C/Y) manual focus lenses with modern autofocus functionality. This makes the AX an exceptional camera for photographers who want to experience autofocus without abandoning their manual focus lens collection.
