Kodak PIXPRO AZ405 40x Astro Zoom Bridge Camera: 24 to 960 mm with optical stabilization

The Kodak PIXPRO AZ405 40x Astro Zoom Bridge Camera (Red) is a 20 MP bridge camera with a 40x optical zoom (24 to 960 mm equivalent), optical image stabilization and AA battery power. Available from Kodak at Camerahaus.

Who Is This Made For?

The AZ405 is for wildlife, sports and travel shooters who want serious reach without a bag of lenses.

40x optical zoom, 24 to 960 mm

One lens runs from a 24 mm wide angle to a 960 mm equivalent telephoto; digital zoom takes the combined figure to 160x.

20 MP BSI CMOS sensor

The back-illuminated 1/2.3-inch sensor delivers 20.68 megapixel stills and 1080p Full HD video at 30 fps.

Optical image stabilization

OIS steadies the long end of the zoom for sharper handheld shots and smoother video.

Close focus to 1.6 cm

Macro mode focuses from 1.6 cm at the wide end for detailed close-ups.

PASM exposure modes

Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority and Manual modes sit alongside Auto, 13 scene modes, Face Beautifier and a custom mode.

AA battery power

Four AA cells give around 300 shots per set of alkalines under CIPA testing; rechargeable NiMH AAs also work.

Panorama and HDR built in

Sweep panoramas up to 360 degrees are stitched in the camera, and an HDR mode holds detail in high-contrast scenes.
