The Laowa MF 50mm T2.9 Macro Cine is a professional-grade manual focus macro cine lens designed specifically for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) cinema cameras. Built by Venus Optics, it features an Apochromatic (APO) optical design comprising 14 elements in 10 groups including 3 ED glass elements which effectively reduces chromatic aberration and delivers outstanding sharpness, accurate colour rendition, and high contrast across the entire focus range. With a T2.9T22 aperture range, a 24 angle of view, and a 7-blade iris, this compact lens weighs just 175g and is equally at home on a handheld rig, tripod, gimbal, or stabiliser.

At its heart, the Laowa 50mm T2.9 Macro Cine offers an impressive 2:1 (2x) magnification ratio, allowing filmmakers to capture extreme close-up detail with remarkable clarity while also retaining the ability to focus all the way to infinity making it equally capable as a portrait or b-roll lens. The cine-friendly design includes 0.8 MOD gears on both the focus and iris rings for seamless compatibility with industry-standard follow focus systems and lens motors, while the 49mm front filter thread provides easy use of screw-in filters. It is compatible with MFT cameras such as the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, Panasonic GH6, and Z CAM E2-M4.
