Description

The Nikon Nikkor 28mm F2 Ai is a fast wide-angle prime lens from Nikons classic manual-focus era, prized for combining a bright F2 maximum aperture with a practical 28mm field of view. Its compact all-metal construction and smooth focusing action make it a natural companion for Nikon film SLRs as well as modern mirrorless cameras via adaptation.

The lens offers a distinctive rendering character with strong central sharpness, natural contrast, and pleasing depth rendition, making it well suited for street photography, documentary work, environmental portraits, and available-light shooting. Compared with slower wide-angle lenses of its generation, the F2 aperture provides greater flexibility in low-light conditions while maintaining the handling and build quality that have made classic Nikkor lenses highly regarded among photographers and collectors alike.
