It offers a maximum image magnification of 0.53x equivalent (35mm equivalent) for close-up photography, and newly incorporated IPX1-rated splash-proof performance and dust-proof design for excellent weather resistance, and utilizes a click-style retractable mechanism that eliminates the need for switch operation when retracting, allowing a more compact design. This lens supports the Focus Stacking computational photography shooting function.

Compact, Lightweight Standard Zoom Lens

This is a new standard zoom lens with a 14 to 42mm focal length (35mm equivalent focal length: 28-84mm equivalent), featuring 8 elements in 7 groups, covering everything from wide-angle to mid-range telephoto. Using three aspherical lenses minimizes aberrations and provides excellent image quality. All lens surfaces are multi-coated, ensuring clear rendering performance. A circular aperture has been used to provide natural bokeh. The lens features a retractable mechanism for enhanced portability when stored. The lens can be extended or retracted just by rotating the zoom ring, allowing users to enjoy smooth, seamless shooting.

Maximum Image Magnification and Closest Focusing Distance

Close-up shooting is possible up to a maximum image magnification of 0.53x equivalent (35mm equivalent), with the closest focusing distance of 0.13 m (at the wide-angle end).Users can shoot subjects from as close as approximately 4 cm from the front of the lens.This lens supports Focus Stacking, one of OM SYSTEMs computational photography shooting functions, allowing users to keep the whole subject in focus in close-up shots where depth of field becomes shallow.
