Description

The Canon EOS 5D is a landmark full-frame digital SLR introduced in 2005. It features a 35.8 23.9mm CMOS sensor with approximately 12.8 megapixels and uses Canon’s EF lens mount, providing compatibility with Canon EF lenses while offering the full-frame perspective of the 35mm format.

The camera combines a 9-point autofocus system with 35-zone TTL metering and shutter speeds from 30 seconds to 1/8000 second. Continuous shooting is available at approximately 3 frames per second, while the fixed pentaprism viewfinder provides approximately 96% frame coverage.

The included Canon EF 24-105mm F4 L IS USM is a versatile L-series zoom covering wide-angle through short telephoto perspectives. It uses 18 elements in 13 groups, internal focusing, a constant F4 aperture, and optical image stabilization. Its 0.45m minimum focusing distance makes it suitable for everyday subjects, portraits, travel, and general-purpose photography.

This combination pairs the original EOS 5D’s full-frame CMOS sensor with one of Canon’s most practical professional zoom ranges. The 24105mm range is particularly well suited to photographers who want a single lens covering landscapes, street photography, portraits, and everyday shooting without changing lenses.
