Description

The Tamron SP 300mm F2.8 LD (IF) is a professional-grade super telephoto lens from Tamron’s highly regarded SP (Super Performance) series. Designed for sports, wildlife, aviation, and nature photography, it combines a fast F2.8 aperture with excellent optical quality and robust construction.

The lens incorporates LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements to help minimize chromatic aberration and maintain high image quality, while the Internal Focusing (IF) design allows focusing without changing the overall length of the lens. Its bright F2.8 aperture provides excellent subject isolation and strong low-light performance, making it a versatile choice for demanding telephoto applications.

Included with the Tamron Teleconverter 140F, the lens can be extended to an effective focal length of 420mm F4 while maintaining excellent optical performance. This combination offers additional reach for distant subjects while preserving much of the sharpness and contrast that made the SP series popular among professional and enthusiast photographers. The result is a classic high-performance telephoto setup that continues to be appreciated by collectors and photographers alike.
