Description

The Carl Zeiss Distagon 25mm F2.8 T* MMJ is a highly regarded ultra-wide-angle lens from the Contax/Yashica system, offering a balance of compact size, excellent optical performance, and classic Zeiss rendering. Its 25mm focal length provides a dramatic yet natural wide-angle perspective, making it particularly well suited for landscapes, architecture, environmental portraits, and documentary photography.

The lens is known for its strong micro-contrast, rich tonal separation, and crisp image rendering that helped establish the reputation of Zeiss optics during the Contax era. The T* multi-coating contributes to excellent contrast and flare resistance, while the smooth manual-focus operation provides a precise and engaging shooting experience. The MMJ version combines the later MM aperture design with Japanese manufacturing, making it a desirable choice for both photographers and collectors seeking classic manual-focus Zeiss optics.
