Description

The Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM is a high-performance standard zoom lens engineered specifically for APS-C format DSLRs. On Nikon DX camera bodies, it offers a highly versatile 25.5-75mm equivalent focal length, making it one of the most popular and essential upgrades over standard kit lenses for event, travel, landscape, and everyday photography.

The defining highlight of this lens is its bright, constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across the entire zoom range, enabling impressive low-light performance and shallow depth-of-field control. Optically, it incorporates 17 elements in 13 groups, featuring two FLD (“F” Low Dispersion) glass elementswhich perform on par with fluorite glassalongside three aspherical lenses to effectively correct chromatic aberrations, distortion, and color fringing.

Equipped with Sigmas proprietary OS (Optical Stabilizer) system, the lens provides up to 4 stops of camera shake compensation for stable handheld shooting. Driven by a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), autofocus operation is swift, precise, and quiet. Complete with a 77mm filter thread, a close 0.28m minimum focus distance, and a zoom lock switch, the EX 17-50mm F2.8 remains a quintessential high-value zoom optic for Nikon DX DSLR users.
