Description:

The Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar Elmar 9cm f/4 is a classic telephoto prime lens designed for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras. Known for its superb optical quality and compact design, this lens is highly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors of Leica cameras, as it delivers beautiful, sharp images with high contrast and excellent rendering.

With an f/4 maximum aperture, the Elmar 9cm f/4 provides a relatively fast shutter speed while being smaller and lighter than other lenses with faster apertures. Its aperture range extends to f/22, allowing for greater control over depth of field and exposure settings. While the f/4 aperture isn’t as fast as some other lenses, the lens compensates with excellent optical performance and a highly compact form factor, making it ideal for photographers who prioritize portability.

The manual focus system, combined with a rangefinder camera’s focusing mechanism, allows precise control over focus, making it an excellent choice for portrait, street, and travel photography.

The lens features 4 elements in 3 groups, providing excellent image quality with sharpness and contrast. It is known for its smooth and pleasing bokeh, especially when used with wider apertures.

Thanks to its Leica M-mount, the Elmar 9cm f/4 can be easily paired with Leica M-series cameras and other M-mount rangefinder cameras, providing high-quality telephoto performance in a small, lightweight package.

This lens is perfect for users who want a compact, lightweight telephoto lens with classic Leica optical performance. Whether you’re photographing portraits, capturing distant subjects, or simply enjoying the manual focus experience, the Elmar 9cm f/4 M-mount delivers excellent results while maintaining the compact and durable nature Leica users expect.
